LTE stands for Long Term Evolution and is the standard when it comes to high speed communication for cell phones and other wireless devices. The IQ Panel 2 contains the Qualcomm snapdragon SOC (system on a chip) which includes a built-in LTE radio. This radio can be used on a variety of networks and your IQ Panel will include a sim card for the network in your area.
The LTE radio is used for all signaling in and out of the panel including arming signals, home automation, alarm events, notification, and more.
Additionally the LTE radio is leveraged in our dual path connectivity which combines LTE and Wi-Fi for intelligent redundancy, flexibility, and a high speed channel for communication and software updates to and from the cloud. Learn more about dual path connectivity here.
