Qolsys announced today that it began a beta program for its Foundation Club, a group of dealers and distributors who will be the first to receive the innovative 7″ touchscreen platform and full line of peripherals.
“The beta program was designed to help us refine our panel before our wide release,” says Mike Hackett, Qolsys SVP of Sales and Marketing. “There’s no better way to accomplish this than by letting the dealer community use it.”
The beta program will provide each Foundation Club member with an “evaluation kit” containing the IQ Panel and a series of security and home control devices including the IQ Door/Window Sensor, an IQ Motion sensor, and the IQ Smart Socket, a Z-Wave device providing real time energy reporting and remote control over two outlets.
“Dealers will pair the devices, play with the software, install it in their own homes, really prove that the development we’ve worked on for the past three years has been in the right direction,” says Hackett. “We’re really excited to let them experience this new platform and anticipate a few improvements to our software as a result of this feedback.”
Beta program participants will receive regular software updates using the panel’s built in Wi-Fi radio, giving them access to the latest software as it becomes available. Software updates can also be performed using the panel’s built-in SD Card slot or pushed from Alarm.com’s AirFX tool online.
“We want to make it easy not just to give feedback, but to see the result of their ideas,” says Hackett. “This is the panel they will be using for their customers and we are excited to allow them a chance to provide feedback.”
