IF MOMMY KISSES SANTA CLAUS… I’LL KNOW.

One of the beautiful things about having an IQ Panel with Alarm.com is the ability to know who is coming and going at any time. To make this possible, one needs a simple yet robust network of sensors and devices that track every day occurrences like doors opening and closing, bodies, moving, and the exact location of smartphones.  (Shameless plug: All of these devices are available as part of the IQ Solution.)Continue reading

IQ PANEL AVAILABLE IN LIMITED RELEASE TO FOUNDATION CLUB MEMBERS, DECEMBER 2013

Qolsys announced today that the IQ Panel will be available to its Foundation Club members in a limited release.

“Our Foundation Club worked as expected,” says Mike Hackett, Qolsys SVP of Sales and Marketing.  “They have given us the feedback we needed to refine our platform.”

The limited release, only available to those within the Foundation Club, will give a non-specified number of panels to each dealer or distributor, to be installed in customer’s homes under their own Alarm.com accounts.

Previously, all Foundation Club evaluation kids were activated under the Qolsys company account, now dealers can use their own accounts. This gives the dealers a visibility of what it will be like to install panels on a wide scale, and lets them experience all of the benefits of the back end integration.

Virtually every setting can be adjusted remotely, giving the IQ Panel one of the most robust support platforms available in a consumer grade panel.

“We will be testing this integration and configuration over the next several months as we prepare for our general release,” says Dave Pulling, CEO of Qolsys.  “We will constantly be updating the package, but overall we are very, very close.”

USING AN ALARM.COM IMAGE SENSOR LIKE A BABY MONITOR

Ever since our fourth child was born our two-year-old has had a difficult time going to bed at night. Sometimes she’ll come into the living room and tell us things like “I need a drink” or “I’m not tired.” Of course when she says this she’s rubbing her eyes and yawning. We started making deals with her. To get her to stay in bed, like “go to sleep and you can hold the baby tomorrow.”  She must be incredibly intelligent, because she’s now figured out that any time she comes to us after getting out of bed, we’ll just pick her up and put her right back under her covers.Continue reading
