IQ Panel Users Can Easily Change Language to Spanish and French.
(Oct. 20, 2014, San Jose, CA) Qolsys today announced an update to the IQ Panel supporting additional language translation. The IQ Panel can easily toggle between English, Spanish, and French, eliminating the need for dealers to carry multiple SKUs, and improving the end-user experience by giving users real-time control of the IQ Panel text and voice. This groundbreaking feature is a first in the residential and small commercial security and life safety industry.
“The number of bilingual families is significant,” says Mike Hackett, SVP of Sales and Marketing. “In these homes, dealers and users are not as well served by technology because of a language barrier. With our language translation feature, users can quickly change the IQ Panel’s written and spoken language to their native tongue and back again as needed.”
Software updates are delivered via the panel’s built-in WiFi connection and can be triggered manually or scheduled to upgrade automatically. Updates can also be pushed from Alarm.com’s AirFX tool or loaded directly onto the panel using an SD Card.

With a previous update, the IQ Panel toggles from English to Spanish and back with the simple touch. The next update planned for November will include French translation. This innovative feature, accessible from the “apps” section on the home page of the panel, gives dealers the ability to serve a growing market of bilingual families in the United States with one SKU.
